Review: Breath of Fire

Breath of Fire Breath of Fire by Kathryn Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I listened to the audio of this beautiful story as part of the Read Me Romance podcast. Holy Hannah was that good - but I knew, I just knew that I had to have a copy of my own to love on it and highlight it in my Kindle app.

Welcome to Playa Vieja! You've been here before, if you read Riptide and fell in love with Finn and Avery, but this time it's the back drop to a second chance between two high school sweethearts and it all starts at Finn and Avery's Bella View Hotel. What could be a more beautiful backdrop for this romance than the beach?

Sage McAllister and Olivia Nguyen had always been friends, and then, when high school came around that turned to something more.

When I was fifteen, all I wanted to was hold Olivia's hand and escort her to a silly high school dance. At first, I had been so nervous I'd barely said a word. But I did get the courage to give her a long, lingering kiss at the end of the night.

And when I pulled back she touched her fingers to her lips and said, "Whoa."

Olivia had always had a direction and a purpose in life; to be an artist. She was determined to make her way and saw that free living life of creating and being surrounded by art and beauty as her future. Sage never really fit anywhere. He was directionless, purposeless and his only real focus was Olivia. He was a ball of restless energy and unused potential without direction or focus, especially when Olivia ended their relationship. It had taken that break for Sage to find a purpose for his restless energy. It had taken that break to lead him to yoga.

When Olivia comes to the class at Bella View, she isn't expecting that the hot guest teacher would be her old high school sweetheart and the tension between them shows from the very first moment and throughout the rest of the story in glances and touches. Almost like yoga brings her back to her soul mate after six years apart.

I love how Kathryn Nolan's pacing for this story flows so well. You're looking at a novella length work that moves seamlessly in to a Happily Ever After. AND HOLY HANNAH THAT STEAMY BEACH SCENE!!!!!!

That they get to relive their recoupling where their firsts occurred is just… BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for three beautiful bonus epilogue glances in to their future where I know Olivia and Sage's souls are happy together.

One click this baby today! And then head over to the Read Me Romance podcast and listen to the audio - it's a delight!
